reminder: RE- whatever

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.”
Audrey Hepburn quote

HEY YOU!

Dear friends,
I'm so busy with so many unfinished business (cleaning and re-organizing) at my house...I would love to be organized and have extra time to blog and to do some crafts project soon. I'm having high spirit for a better nest and I am hoping for extra zest in my life :)
"It takes Courage to grow up and be who you really are"
-E.Cummings-

I have always been seen as studious, overachiever (or a nerd? :P). In fact, the video above really portrays the real me inside...the one longing for play & fun, as well as freedom for expression :)

Be Present

I learned about this amazing retreat from Kelly Rae. I wish I live closer enough to join this :(
Just by looking at the video 'Be Present' (song by Joshua Radin), I already start to embrace a more optimist outlook.

The world is so beautiful when it is filled with positive people and inspiring creative community. For more info about this retreat, you can click here.

"Brand New Day"

Some kind of magic...Happens late at night

When the moon smiles down at me...And bathes me in its light

I fell asleep beneath you...In the tall blades of grass

When I woke the world was new...I never had to ask

It's a brand new day...The sun is shining..It's a brand new day

For the first time in such a long long time...I know, I'll be ok

Most kind of stories...Save the best part for last

And most stories have a hero who finds

You make your past your past...Yeah you make your past your past

It's a brand new day...The sun is shining...It's a brand new day

For the first time in such a long long time...I know, I'll be ok

This cycle never ends...You gotta fall in order to mend

It's a brand new day...It's a brand new day

For the first time in such a long long time...I know, I'll be ok

My Style : Country Modern

It is a general knowledge that the kitchen is the heart of house/family. It is a place where we nourish our mind and body through foods, meals time, and family gatherings. That's why Daily decorator proposed this interesting idea that "kitchen style may reflect your personal decorating style". Here's my choice:

Little Pleasures in Life

Another day...Another random beauty...Another celebration for unexpected inspiration...
Let's take time to enjoy life's little pleasures...^-^
One of my daily pleasures is to find random interesting musics from Youtube. I can feel the positive and happy vibes from these two Japanese Music videos:

Wardrobe Heaven

Law of attraction works all the time! I'm still strugling with boxes of clothes right now, also still dealing with this statement "Should I keep this? But it doesn't fits me anymore....but I might come back to this size again soon".

However, i'm so determine to keep only what works for me at this very moment. I'll keep the not-so sure items on a box labelled "I'll see you next month" (what I mean is If I can live in peace without these items within one month, then I'll be completely firm I don't really need them)

Look what I found here (I'm so drooling right now). This particular one (Lagerlings, via desiretoinspire) is my absolute favourite!

I love the fact that it clearly divides her side and his side. I also love the head-to-toe organization system: you can see your bags collections, all tops and shirts being on the hangers, bottoms on the barely-visible-drawer, and then the shoes are neatly lined up. Although I prefer the wood tone to be in white plus a big full mirror (with a really nice frame in gold and white) behind the door of the closet. ^-^ So heavenly (a walk-in closet is every girl's dream!!)

Polyvore and Me

I found out Polyvore from my bestfriend. I had some great moments playing around in Polyvore (it used to be so addictive!), but then I stopped because I didn't have much time to create new sets.

Maybe I'll start to make new sets or mood boards again in Polyvore ^-^ (if I can...not so sure about that ^-^''). In the meantime, this is Audrey Hepburn and her clean & classy style, the most charming style icon ever!!

Audrey Hepburn Legacy

Oh So Dreamy!

Why everything from Japan are so eye candy?
Fashion, musics, movies, fabrics, crafts originated from Japan are total cuteness...Big applause for the KAWAI cultures ^-^

I came across this lovely picture via Loveology. It's a collection from haco .

I love the pastel color scheme, and not to forget the roses detail on her bag! Perfect outfit for a date to botanical garden ^-^.

I also found this really sweet video made by haco (click here). Great!! Now I have the outfit and the soundtrack for my imaginary first date with David Schwimmer, Mark Ruffalo, or Adam Sandler...^-^''

Learn how to KISS

I think I have too many stuffs, too many clothes. too many collections here and there. Actually, it won't be such a big issue if I have bigger space. The thing is my room is so SMALL

I know I have to edit my stuffs immediately. I don't want to end up being a hoarder. Some wacky hoarders videos on Youtube really freak me out! So so scary how horrible it can be. It's like they are living for things/stuffs instead of maintaining relationship with people/loved ones. It's scary to realize that I might have similar tendency to be attached with things (of course it's not extreme, but I should learn to simplify!). I want to create space for new things to come, which means I have to do some serious 'throwing and tossing'. Yes, learn how to KISS (Keep It Simple Smartie!).

Time To Change

It's hard for me to let go

I get easily attached to people

I love people, sometimes I love them too much

I love them and I really don't want them to fade away from my memory

I try to keep things to make sure I don't forget

Bu then I realize the more things I keep, the more I become so tied up with the past

I don't want to live in the past

I want to enjoy my NOW

I want to believe in things that matters...like dreams, love, and peace

To be able to achieve all that...I know I need to enjoy BEING ME...

Happy Flow

Dear Readers,

When was the last time you feel really really HAPPY?
Just now, I feel so happy to be able to share my thoughts and feelings with you. Having this blog is almost like creating a new home for me. As you can imagine, I get so excited about little details starting from the template, colour scheme, and my blog contents (LOL, just like creating personal space at home).

Of course, it is a process full of ambiguity and uncertainty (ie., not knowing what to talk about, not knowing who would want to read my daily rambles anyway). However, the good thing about being a beginner is the sense of ease to simply go with the flow and be honest with myself.

Now, I'm really excited about learning how to write (and all sort of things related to blogging). Knowing that I can have the motivation to learn again, somehow helps me to feel good about myself ^-^. I also hope that by doing so, I can eventually improve my 'limited edition' english.

How do you define happiness?
It's really a wonderful feeling if we can feel 'oh-so-sunshine-at heart' without any special reasons (regardless of the external factors). When we are happy, we wake up with a smile. We sing, laugh, and even dance while doing the dishes. When we are happy, the universe seems to speak to us in a different language. We feel 'lighter' when we walk. The air that we breath feels a lot more fresher too. When we are happy, we have faith that we can achieve great things in our life.

It might be hard to feel a true sense of happiness when we are in time of crisis, transition, adaptation, or recovery. We can still smile/laugh on a certain occasion, but inside we might feel a deep void, a sense of darkness/numbness/helplesness/ simply not knowing 'what's wrong?". Perhaps this flowchart could be a wake up call for us:

I realize that no one has ever said that life is going to be easy for me. I also understand that I can't control everything that comes to my way (no matter how hard I try to be organized or to plan in advance). Now, I do believe that God offers many challenges in my life to helps me grow. All I really need to do is to move forward, find areas in my life that I can improve, and begin at least somewhere. The idea is really to achieve at least one thing each day and feel good about myself)

note: I found all the images from tumblr (I forgot to note/record the exact source). If you happen to know the source, please let me know so I can put a proper link/credit (thank you ^-^)

The One and Lovely

I always enjoy watching fragrance commercials. What I adore from them are their 'deep' concepts and the high levels of artistic effects (all the details, the settings, the music, the theatrical interpretation...so SUBLIME!! ^-^).

My current obsessions are the DolceGabbana series (The one, Rose The One, L'eau The One, featuring Scarlett Johansson, created by photographer Jean Baptiste Mondino) :

THE ONE
" I am looking, I don't know what I am looking for, maybe everything maybe nothing but I'll know when I find it, you know when it's the one... That's THE ONE. "

ROSE THE ONE
"It's funny what you remember: it's not the words or the music. Maybe it's a laugh, a taste. It's funny what you forget but you'll never forget THE ONE."

L'EAU THE ONE

"It seems simple, beauty is only outside but you might have to get what's inside to get to what's sweet, beauty that's in your mind...that's THE ONE"

I also love LOVELY by SJP (the song was Just To be in Love by James Marsden ):

What's in a Name?

Juliet: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose . By any other name would smell as sweet." Shakespeare Quotes, Romeo & Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Dear Readers,

I'm sorry if this second post is pretty self-indulgance (you don't have to read this really ^-^''). I just need to have at least an overview/outline before starting anything (it's kind of a ritual for me). This is just like a course outline/general housekeeping rules for my blog.

What's in a name?

For me, name/term is important because it helps me to define or explain things. A name is a representation of one's identity. It reflects characteristics and personality. As in a novel/article, the title helps us to quickly pinpoint its general contents/issues/topics. Last but not least, a name also acts as a keyword or a personal branding ^-^.

Why 'Voici et Voila'?

Voici (French) means 'look here', 'here it is' (or 'here they are'):

1) It's used when you are presenting an object or concept.

2) It's about what you're going to say/ what you are going to introduce.

et simply means and

Voila (French) means 'look there', 'check it out':

1) It's used when you talk about facts or more abstracts things (reasons).

2) It's about what you've just said .

3) an expression of success/satisfaction.

What's inside my boxes?

Psychology: anything related to soul, human conncetion, wellbeing, coping, positive psychology, the narrative therapy, bibliotherapy, self-regulation, transformation, empowerment.

Design and creativity: anything related to crafts, decoration, personal space, home interior, humanistic photography, fashion, mixed media art, art therapy, creative writing.

Inspiration: mood boards, inspiring videos/musics/books, inspiring people.

I hope we can continue to inspire each other ^-^. Feel free to contact me through:

Make It Happen

Dear Bloggers,

Welcome to 'voici-et-voila' !

I'm giving all of you a warm smile ^-^ to begin our friendships and circles of inspiration. My name is Una Amanda (you can simply call me Una). My parents said that my name was originated from latin words Una (means 'The first" or "The One") & Amanda (means "lovely" or "fits to be loved"). I think it's true when they said that a child's name is like a prayer. Somehow, name seems to correspond to one's personality and character. Of course, I'm not going to self-proclaimed as a lovable person (Hahaha...that would certainly sounds so funny and weird ^-^''). What I'm trying to say is I am the type of person who loves to be surrounded by lovely things. I'm also easily impressed or inspired by little wonders, random beauty, and arts in any form.

Today is a my birthday. I personally believe that this is a very special and magical day, because I was born 28 years ago in 2-8-82 (what an interesting number combination right? It's like a mirror reflection). I believe my birthday date explains a lot about me. I am a perfectionist by nature (maybe it is related to 2+8=10). When I was a kid until my university years, I was so obsessed with the idea of obtaining the perfect 10, I wanted the perfect result for almost anything (Thank God, I am more flexible now ^-^). I always love to reflect, love to ask questions (even if I couldn't find the answers), love to see and be inspired by others.

As one of my birthday resolutions, I decide to start blogging (seriously, I've been wanting to do this for quite sometimes and maybe the word 'procrastinator' should be my middle name ^-^''). Until yesterday, I keep giving excuses about why I haven't started blogging. There's a voice inside that keep telling me to wait 'for the right moment' (I'm sure it's the silly perfectionista inside me...haha).

I am so lucky, I have many dear friends that keep encouraging me to start writing. They said, "Why do you have to wait for the right time? Everyday is an opportunity to grab any chance or special meanings that comes to our way. Better Things come to those who don't wait!!"

And so, to celebrate my first start to Make it Happen, I want to share some cute artworks made by evajuliet (from Etsy.com):
